ALTA-PETE GRIT cbca#12504 is a rough coat, tri colored male who was born on December 9, 2015. Grit is a son of Scott's Alice (2013 USBCHA Nursery Champion, 2016/17 USBCHA National Champion) who is a daughter of Wendy Schmaltz' Gin (2010 All Around Stockdog). Gin goes back to Scott's Alta-Pete Dan. Alice's father is Scott's Don (2 time USBCHA National Champion) a son of Steinman's Star (3 time USBCHA National Champion). Grit's father is Scott's Imp. Coy (now owned by Jim Raske) who was the 2016 Western Canadian Nursery Champion. In 2018, Grit and Jenny won a day in Nursery and was the overall Nursery Champion at the Stirling Acres trial in BC, the Strang Ranch trial in Colorado, and the Phantom Ridge Trial in Alberta. They also placed 4th in both the MO State Championship Nursery trial and the Bluegrass Classic Nursery trial. As a three year old, in his first year of open, Grit won a day at the Catbird Farm trial and won the overall award for three days of open runs. Although the pandemic has slowed down our 20/21 trial season, Grit managed to make a good showing at the Carlton Creek Trial tying for first place.
